Oil and gas well logs, ca. 1930-2005.

These logs contain data on approximately 20,000 oil, gas, and solution salt wells drilled since 1930. An oil or gas well log is a detailed graphic/ narrative record that progressively describes the geological strata and any oil, gas, or water that is encountered during the drilling of a well. The logs provide a wealth of detail not only about the location of oil and gas resources in the state, but also significant data concerning the surficial geology, minerological, sedimentological, geochemical, seismological, and petrological characteristics of the geographical areas in which the wells are located.
